Hi Everyone,
We are gearing up for a day of two-wheeled fun!
To help ensure a smooth day please find general information regarding the clinic.
We are pleased to be hosted by DC Dirt Camp. Without owner BJ’s enthusiasm and support we would not be teaching in your area! Thank you BJ!
WHEN
Registration begins at 8:00 AM SHARP! Keep in mind traffic, even on weekends can be tough, especially if you are coming down Rt 95. Please arrive on time so we can get you geared up and set up with a bike. The clinic starts at 9AM. Clinics will run until roughly 3:30 - 4PM.
There will be a porta-potty style bathroom on site for our use.
WHERE
7627 Fitzhugh Lane King George, VA 22458
After you follow your GPS to get into the greater King George area and are on Route 218, you will turn into a neighborhood called Eagle Bay (Rt. 642/682 Eagles Nest Lane). Bear left to stay on Rt 642 (Fitzhugh Lane) at the fork as you come up the hill into the neighborhood. Follow the paved road, turning left to remain on pavement at the jersey barrier to stay on paved road. (DO NOT GO past this CONCRETE barrier onto a dirt road, even if Google tells you to!!!) that winds through the neighborhood until a dead end cul-de-sac. You will proceed to a gate with one side open and see DC Dirt Camp signs posted throughout the drive through neighborhood. The river and a couple houses will be on your left. When the road ends at the gate, continue straight into the unpaved grass/dirt road and look for the big van and red pop-up tent in a field off to your right. That's Dirt Camp home base. You will see the bikes lined up. Come carefully down the dirt road and follow the cones to park on the berm (out of harm's way if bikes go bonkers).
SPECTATORS (INCLUDING FAMILY MEMBERS)
We do not allow spectators at the clinic, no exceptions. Parents, spouses, GF/BF and friends, no matter how well-intentioned, create unnecessary distractions for all participants. Thank you for your understanding.
MEALS
Please bring a bagged lunch, snacks and water. This is a rural area and there is no restaurants or stores nearby – bring everything with you, especially lots of water. There will be a porta-potty style bathroom on site for our use.
WHAT TO WEAR
We ride rain or shine, hot or cold, so please wear layers. Loose-fitting workout pants or jeans are fine (no shorts allowed). Long sleeve shirt required. Over-the-ankle boots required as well. Hiking boots are great. Please wear tall socks – knee-high tube socks work best as our shin/knee guards go under your pant leg, but preferably, over your socks. You're welcome to wear your own street riding/Adv gear if you have it. In these COVID times we ask that you BYO gloves and eye protection. Any kind of snug-fitting glove will work - baseball gloves, work gloves, gardening gloves. Sunglasses, Rx or safety glasses are also required.
SOCIAL DISTANCING
We will be respecting the pandemic and any current guidelines. We will be exercising social distancing throughout the day. If you have hand sanitizer, please bring it for use before the clinic, during the lunch break, etc. If you have symptoms – coughing, sneezing or a fever, please refrain from attending.
